The vocational training program consists of different levels, each with specific entry requirements and duration. The Artisan level, examined by KNEC, is open to individuals with a KCSE grade of D (Plain) and below, and the course runs for 6 to 9 months on a full-time basis.
For Grade 3, examined by NITA, applicants must have KCSE or KCPE qualifications, and the program lasts 6 to 9 months on a full-time basis.
To progress to Grade 2, also under NITA, candidates must have completed Grade 3 from a recognized institution, and the course similarly takes 6 to 9 months on a full-time basis.
Finally, Grade 1, under NITA, requires completion of Grade 2 from a recognized institution and has the same 6 to 9 months duration under full-time study.
